Last september, the Interamerican Conference on Social Security celebrated 52 years of a succesful existence, keeping always alive the spirit with which it was created in Santiago de Chile by the representatives of the countries of this continent, who with great vision conceived it as the ideal instrument to reinforce social security, through international cooperation. Since then, it has been the right forum to exchange knowledge and experiences on issues, sometimes common ones, that have led to significant initiatives for the development of the 60 institutions of 33 countries that now integrate the membership of the Conference and that have the noble responsibility to provide social security to their peoples.
