As the title of the book correctly suggests, the book brings together contributions from Latin American economists on the determinants and consequences of crime, as well as contributions and lessons about similar and related issues from other regions of the world. Importantly, many of the chapters in this book make use of available data together with solid empirical strategies in order to understand the causes and consequences of crime.
